Sedgwick County Democratic Women (SCDW) was proud to bring a group to the Air Capital Women’s March in Wichita (KS) on Jan. 21, 2017.
We held our BANNER HIGH to support women and equality in Kansas and nationwide. Yes, we were part of the 3,000 in attendance who marched from The Keeper of the Plains to City Hall. Millions of people around the world stood up to proclaim that “Women’s Rights are Human Rights” and to support the diverse communities and diverse issues being threatened by our new national administration.
Since then, SCDW members and other women in our community are even more empowered and intend to keep the energy of the movement going. We are determined to support and elect women to positions in our city, county, state, and national governments. We want to also see more women as precinct committee persons in the Democratic Party.
Here are some pictures for you to enjoy of our preparation for and at the Women’s March. Our President, Frances Jackson, made a short speech at the rally.
Come join us at upcoming SCDW meetings. We meet the second Thursday of every month. For details, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Be a part of our efforts to get dynamic women as precinct committee people and elected to office!
