*First of all, all events other than the luncheon and banquet are FREE to attend… so don’t let the idea that you have to pay to get in stop you from visiting Demofest 2018 this weekend, August 24 from 7:00 p.m. to 3 p.m. August 26, 2018, at Hyatt Regency Wichita (400 W. Waterman St., Wichita, KS 67202).
There will be informational booths, workshops and training, voter registration, caucus meetings for special interest groups (African American, Asian American & Pacific Islander, Veterans and Military Families, Labor, Disabilities, Young Democrats, Kansas Federation of Democratic Women’s Clubs, Food & Farm, Local Elected Officials, Hispanic & Latino, LGBT, Progressive), issues forums and much more.
Any or all of these groups would welcome you to add to the conversation and our efforts to turn our state a lovely shade of blue! You should certainly try to attend the KFDW meeting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25. The agenda for the KFDW meeting is to hear from candidates and hand them their contributions from KFDW.
There IS a charge for tickets to Saturday’s luncheon and evening banquet. Former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar, and 2018 Democratic Gubernatorial Nominee Laura Kelly will be the keynote speakers at Demofest 2018 dinner banquet on Aug. 25! Let me tell you, it feels GREAT to be with people who have the same progressive values, the same encompassing hopes, and the same increasing frustrations (Aaaaaaagh!!! WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE TO MAKE PEOPLE WAKE UP?!?) as you do. Come and play, then go out and get serious about electing people who want to work for ALL citizens and not just an entitled few.
