Answer MLK Jr’s Call to Service

As an organization, Sedgwick County Democratic Women is supporting programs that serve survivors of sex trafficking.
We have an open call for donations of clothing and toiletry items for ICT S.O.S. “Fresh Start Bags” (see list here). Club members are also volunteering to assist at the WSU Center for Combating Human Trafficking Jan. 26 event featuring the documentary “A Path Appears.” This documentary highlights the stories of three women who have survived human trafficking and the innovative programs that have evolved to achieve remarkable results in empowering their lives.

This Huffington Post article suggests that those running for president in 2016 present a bold vision for national service as a common expectation and opportunity for all young Americans between the ages of 18-28.
